SolydXK and LMDE are two Debian-based Linux distributions that provide a stable and user-friendly experience. However, there are some key differences between the two distros that may make one more suitable for your needs than the other.
SolydXK is a rolling release distro, which means that it receives continuous updates. This can be an advantage for users who want to always have the latest software, but it can also be a disadvantage for users who prefer a more stable system. LMDE, on the other hand, is a point release distro, which means that it only receives major updates every few years. This can provide a more stable experience, but it can also mean that users may not have access to the latest software.
Another key difference between SolydXK and LMDE is the desktop environment that they use. SolydXK uses the KDE Plasma desktop, while LMDE uses the MATE desktop. KDE Plasma is a more modern and feature-rich desktop, while MATE is a more traditional and lightweight desktop. The choice of desktop environment ultimately depends on your personal preferences.
Finally, SolydXK and LMDE have different target audiences. SolydXK is designed for users who want a rolling release distro with a modern desktop environment. LMDE, on the other hand, is designed for users who want a stable point release distro with a more traditional desktop environment.
Overall, both SolydXK and LMDE are excellent Debian-based Linux distributions. The choice between the two distros ultimately depends on your personal needs and preferences.
Super detailed artcile. I really enjoyed it’s read.
Not convinced tha SolydXK is better than Lmde. I simply don’t agree with ur view
Seems lot’s of *nix users prefer terminal. They must have a reason for that.
There several distros available, but few can compare with the stability of Debian.
U tryed SolydXK. Now it’s my turn to try Lmde.
SolydXK is really aggresive and that can be scary for new linux user.
I think u should write another article comparing LMDE and MX Linux. They are both really good.
Nice article! I’m going to try SolydXK on my old laptop.
I like the stability of Lmde, but im going to try SolydXK because looks really nice and promissing.
