How to Use Windows Defender Offline to Remove Malware

Windows Defender Offline is a powerful scanning tool that can help you remove malware from your computer that traditional antivirus software may miss. It works by scanning your computer while it’s offline, which prevents malware from interfering with the scan.

To use Windows Defender Offline, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your computer and make sure it is connected to the internet.
  2. Open the Windows Defender Security Center. You can do this by clicking on the Start menu and typing Windows Defender Security Center.
  3. Click on the Virus & threat protection tab.
  4. Under Current threats, click on the Scan options link.
  5. Select the Windows Defender Offline scan option.
  6. Click on the Scan now button.

Your computer will then restart and begin the offline scan. The scan may take several hours to complete, so be patient.

Once the scan is complete, your computer will restart again. You will then see a report of the scan results. If any malware was found, Windows Defender Offline will remove it.

If you continue to have problems with malware, you may need to contact Microsoft support.
